Teguar’s TS-5010 Waterproof PC is Now Available with a 24” Touchscreen

Teguar launched the TS-5010 Waterproof Computer Series in late 2017. Today, these stainless steel PCs are used around the world in food and beverage manufacturing facilities and pharmaceutical production environments. We are happy to announce a new addition to this series with the TS-5010-24. This 24” widescreen computer provides extra screen real estate and a high resolution LCD touchscreen, housed in a sleek and durable bezel.  

Teguar had originally offered the TS-5010 Series in screen sizes of 15, 19, and 22”, when a customer came to us with a new project. The customer, a large academic medical center, already had three Teguar 24” Stainless Steel units on their pharmaceutical manufacturing line. Those computers ran reliably, but the clinic realized the need for TPM security. A TPM chip is built into the computer hardware and it guards sensitive data. In this case, the customer needed TPM to protect sensitive cancer drug information, but a TPM chip could not be installed on their current computers.

The clinic required a 24” screen to run Epic software and fanless, durable housing that could be sterilized in their clean room. The TS-5010-24 was able to meet all of the clinic’s requirements. After successfully deploying over fifty TS-5010-24 computers, Teguar has added the product to our portfolio.

The TS-5010-24 has a 23.8” LCD, the current standard for Epic compliant computers. You can use the large, projected capacitive touchscreen to open multiple windows at once or view information from a distance. This PC is fully waterproof with SUS304 stainless steel, to prevent rusting, or optional SUS316 stainless steel, for protection from salt water. The TS-5010 Series is rated IP66 and IP69K, for resistance to high pressure and high temperature water jets. If that’s not enough, you can choose to have the computer additionally rated IP67, which would allow you to completely submerge it in water up to one meter in depth. Each computer also comes with M12 metal connectors, for a fully waterproof solution down to the cables and I/Os.

I/Os include 2x USB, 2x COM and a LAN port. The COM port can be customized to include power output, meaning the PC can operate a device, such as a barcode scanner, through a single cable that supplies a COM interface and DC power. To do this, the serial connection does not use all of its pins in the interface and one of the pins is defined as a 5V or 12V DC output.

The TS-5010-24 has outdoor customization options including a high brightness, 1000 nit LCD and optical bonding. Other options include a built in barcode scanner, waterproof speakers, TPM 2.0 security, and up to 32GB of RAM. With the powerful Intel Skylake Core i3/i5/i7 CPU and built in Bluetooth and WiFi, this computer can run your ERP or SCADA software, or act as an HMI or a hub for your IIoT data. The VESA and side mounting holes create almost limitless mounting options including a VESA arm, moveable cart, table or wall. The TS-5010-24 has elegant, yet durable housing that will look great in your environment while delivering dependable performance for years to come.
