Industrial Hardware Supply Constraints in 2026: What You Need to Plan for Now
Learn how an unprecedented increase in demand for RAM, SSD, CPU & GPU for data center AI acceleration could affect industrial-class companies in 2026.
At Teguar, we pride ourselves on being collaborative and consultative, which means advising our customer base when market trends may affect their industrial or medical computing projects. In this spirit, we wanted to share our observations and research into the current market conditions with both consumer and industrial RAM, SSD, CPU, and GPU components.
What is Happening?
Demand for Artificial Intelligence computing, including HBM (High-Bandwidth Memory) has resulted in production shifts by key suppliers. These production shifts, in combination with the increased demand in the industrial computing sector, have resulted in pricing fluctuations and supply constraints. Suppliers, including memory manufacturers and key GPU & CPU manufacturers, have strategically moved production capacity to cover the demands of the High-Performance Compute market, resulting in less production allocation for industrial storage and memory SKUs, entry-class processors, and some GPUs.

As a result, a market shortage is inevitable as resources are pulled away from the production of standard-grade RAM that comes pre-installed in most Teguar industrial PC lines (which typically feature Intel® processors.) We see these pricing increases for commodity storage and DRAM continuing through 2026.
How Will This Affect the Industrial Sector?
Prices for products equipped with industrial RAM, SSD & GPU have already experienced an industry-wide increase. For example, market pricing for DDR4 and DDR5 has jumped between 3x and 5x since mid-2025. This shift in the market will have a cascading effect on the class of companies that partner with Teguar for industrial and medical computer hardware.

What is Teguar Doing About This?
The Teguar Team is working around the clock to help offset the impact of this shortage in the following ways:
- Strategically purchasing CPU, RAM, SSD & GPU components for both existing customer and project future demand.
- Coordinating with customers proactively to begin securing products now, in anticipation of increased lead times or future price increases on some products.
- Working collaboratively with key suppliers, such as Intel, Transcend and Nvidia, to understand production capabilities and roadmaps to design the best components into products for the future.
What Can You Do To Prepare?
For the foreseeable future, both industrial and commercial computer providers will be facing potential price fluctuations for components like RAM and SSDs. As an industry-wide challenge, everyone from large consumer OEMs like Dell and Lenovo to the person building their own gaming PC will be affected
To help our industrial and medical sector customers deal with this challenge, Teguar keeps a running reserve of stocked inventory, from panel PCs to embedded box PCs, stainless steel computers, medical all-in-ones, rugged tablets and much more. Consult your Account Manager or our Solutions Team for guidance on your next project, as we likely have a suitable model in stock for your project now, so you can avoid long lead times or price adjustments.
