Outdoor computers provide durability and easy readability in full sunlight. The displays are extremely bright to make operating the devices simple even in harsh weather conditions. The contrast ratio is greatly enhanced in high brightness, with the level of direct sunlight determining the level of the contrast ratio. Teguar’s rugged outdoor computers were designed to increase reliability and readability under the impact of all elements, like snow, water, dust, heat, cold, and sun. These PCs are made with components that allow them to operate in a much wider range of temperatures than traditional units and can go from cold to hot environments without condensation build up. They are completely waterproof and vibration resistant and boast an ingress protection rating of IP65 or higher. Teguar’s outdoor computers are able to run safely no matter how tough the conditions.
Teguar outdoor computers have high-bright LCD screens with optical bonding that reduces glare from bright sunlight. Standard LCDs max out at about 400 nits brightness, which is readable in most indoor conditions, but is too dim to read under sunlight. Our outdoor computers max out at 1000 nits brightness, for bright, readable screens, in all conditions.

Industrial Touch Screens: How to Make the Right Choice
One of the main applications for these computers is outdoor kiosks. Teguar has outdoor kiosks installed on a ski slope in Colorado, to an outdoor sports complex in Florida. These computers need to be able to operate in all weather types, so they have wider operating temperature ranges than other computers. The widest range of any Teguar computer is from -25°C to 60°C (-13°F to 140°F).
Keeping Things Cool with Fanless Computers
Do Fanless Computers Overheat?
These outdoor computers are meant to be installed outside and stay there, even when rain or humidity is expected. All of Teguar's outdoor computers are at least IP65 rated, meaning they can withstand water spray from all angles. The higher the IP rating, the more the computer can tolerate. IP69K, the highest IP rating, means the computer can handle high-pressure, high-temperature water jet spray, which is often needed for washdown environments, but not always needed for outdoor installation.
