Rain, dust, shocks, machine vibration and high temperatures would put a consumer-grade tablet out of commission, but industrial-grade tablets are built to last in tough environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the video below, you can see a few of the tests that Teguar Rugged Tablets undergo, to determine what level of motion or impact the tablet can handle without breaking. In field work, warehousing, or emergency medical services, users are bound to drop the tablet from time to time. This test simulates the tablet falling and hitting the ground at various angles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dall Drop Test \/ Screen Shatter Test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A weighted ball is dropped onto the center of the touchscreen. Teguar rugged tablets are made with Gorilla Glass or Dragon Glass, which are scratch and shatter resistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vibration Test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Rugged tablets can be mounted to industrial machines, forklifts, trucks, and other vehicles. This test simulates machine vibration and ensures that the tablet can still operate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Surface Abrasion Test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This test uses abrasive paper that runs over the surface of the tablet. Rugged tablets are likely to come into contact with abrasive surfaces, like concrete or a gritty surface, they also might be subject to frequent cleanings with chemicals. You want to ensure that your tablet with hold up and won\u2019t easily show signs of wear and tear from your day to day use.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UV Light Test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Rugged Tablets can be susceptible to damage by UV light. This test puts the tablet under a UV light for a period of time, to ensure the surface is not damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Drop Test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This simulates dropping the tablet flat, as opposed to the sides and corners, like in the tumble test. These drops are done from a height of at least 3 feet, which simulates falling out of your hands or off of a counter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Burn-in Test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The chamber used in this video reaches 60 degrees Celsius (140 Fahrenheit). The tablet operates at this temperature for an extended period of time, to detect premature failures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/teguar.com\/eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/02\/Mud-and-water-splash-rugged-tablet.jpg\" alt=\"Teguar Rugged Tablet with mud and water splash\" class=\"wp-image-1362375\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>MIL-STD-810 is a certification that guarantees the ruggedness of products. It is a military standard that defines 29 laboratory test methods used to test the ruggedness of material. All of Teguar\u2019s rugged tablets are MIL-STD-810 certified, but that doesn\u2019t mean they undergo all 29 tests. Rugged Tablets are usually tested for variables such as high and low temperatures, shock, and mechanical vibration, but other tests, like salt fog or low pressure (altitude), usually don\u2019t apply
